The Colorado-grown Spring Creek Bluegrass Band is a dynamic group rapidly emerging on the bluegrass scene. The band began in 2004 in western Colorado when the members were working together on a rural guest ranch. They quickly made their mark in the Gunnison Valley as top acoustic musicians with unique vocals and soulful harmonies. Atmospheric and mesmeric, 'throat singing' is almost too difficult to describe in words. It must be heard to be believed — the music, produced by resonating low sounds in the throat, creates a middle note and a haunting, flute-like harmonic. Chirgilchin is a group of musicians from Tuva, a small Russian province north of Western Mongolia. Paddy Keenan of The Bothy Band, with John Walsh
Master uilleann piper Paddy Keenan, founding member of The Bothy Band accompanied by guitarist John Walsh.
Generally acknowledged as the most accomplished uilleann piper performing today, Paddy Keenan is certainly one of the most brilliant musicians of his generation. He can rightfully claim his place alongside such open-style legends as pipers John Cash and Johnny Doran. Paddy was a founding member of The Bothy Band, which forever changed the face of Irish traditional music. Paddy's virtuosity on the pipes combined with the ferocity of his playing made him, in the opinion of many, its driving force.
